While the XC60 comes with a standard turbocharged engine that delivers 250 horsepower and also offers an available 316 horsepower turbo- and supercharged engine, the available 400 horsepower T8 Twin Engine is the true star powerplant. This engine, which was named Best Powertrain by TAWA powers the only plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in its class, delivering better EPA numbers than offered by the Prius C and matching the power of a Porsche Macan Turbo.

In a press release, Anders Gustafsson, Senior Vice President Americas and President and CEO, Volvo Car USA, remarked, "Volvo is very proud to get this incredible recognition for the all-new XC60 from TAWA. The XC60 brings all of the award-winning technology from the XC90 to an even more popular market segment."
